"So long, Sea Lavender"
This project focuses on continuing care for our second habitat restoration site, replacing invasive Wavy Leaf Sea Lavender with native species to support our pollinators. Tasks include watering installed plants through establishment, removing invasive species and expanding the site little by little, with the intention of improving the area’s biodiversity, ecological health and resilience. It’s a sunny, exposed site, so if it’s a hot day, we’ll wrap at 11am instead of 12am.
Date and Time
Fourth Sunday of the month, 9:00am-12:00pm (reoccurring monthly)
Location
Ballfield Trailhead (32.94119, -117.13587) in Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve, by Canyonside Park. We’ll hike together to our project site a short ways west on the North Main Trail. Click here for a Google map of the meeting location and project sites. Or, throw the listed coordinates into any mapping software you prefer.
