Get a Temporary Restraining Order

The San Diego County Superior Court issues Temporary Restraining Orders (TRO) in the County of San Diego. TROs are available for a variety of reasons including domestic violence, civil harassment, abuse of an elder or adult dependent, gun violence or workplace violence.

Gun violence

An immediate family member, employer, coworker, employee or teacher of a secondary or postsecondary school, or law enforcement agency may seek an order prohibiting someone who poses a significant danger to themselves or others from controlling, owning, purchasing, possessing or receiving a firearm, ammunition or magazine.

Workplace violence

An employer whose employee has suffered unlawful violence or a credible threat of violence from any individual may seek a Temporary Restraining Order and injunction prohibiting harassment.
