Octavio Suarez, CPA, CFE

PERFORMANCE AUDITOR II

Octavio Suarez joined the Office of the City Auditor in May 2026. He has over 10 years of accounting and financial management experience across a variety of industries, including small business consulting, private equity, and corporate finance. Earlier in his career, he worked as an accounting consultant supporting small businesses in establishing and strengthening financial processes and internal controls. Most recently, he served as Controller for a large public landscaping company, where he oversaw budgeting, financial reporting, audit coordination, and cross‑functional collaboration with a focus on process improvement and operational efficiency.

Octavio holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from San Diego State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and is currently pursuing the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification.
