Principal Auditor

Paul Alberga joined the City Auditor’s Office in August 2008. Paul’s experience includes serving as a Senior Auditor Evaluator with the Bureau of State Audits (California State Auditor) for three years; a staff auditor for Armijo & Associates in Palm Desert, CA; and a Project Analyst with the Palm Desert Development Company. Paul has performed several financial and performance audits on various statewide programs including transportation construction, parks and recreation, worker safety, student aid, and healthcare. In 2005, Paul received the State Auditor’s Award for Transparency in Government for his performance audit work.

Paul has both a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics and a Masters of Business Administration degree from UC Riverside. Paul also holds a certificate in Corporate Environmental Management from the Donald Bren School of Environmental Management UC Santa Barbara.
