Boards and Commissions

About Us

The City of San Diego Office of Boards and Commissions serves as the central resource for the City's network of boards, commissions, and committees, which provide valuable community input on a wide range of public policy issues. The Office supports the recruitment, appointment, orientation, and ongoing administration of more than 40 advisory bodies and hundreds of volunteer commissioners who contribute their expertise and perspectives to City government. Through its commitment to transparency, public participation, and effective governance, the Office helps ensure that residents have meaningful opportunities to engage in the decision-making process and shape policies that impact their communities. By fostering collaboration between appointed members, City staff, elected officials, and the public, the Office of Boards and Commissions strengthens civic engagement and promotes informed, inclusive, and representative local government.
