How To Become A Partner
Goods and Services Partnerships
The City of San Diego regularly purchases goods and services from the business community so that we can perform essential services from fire fighting to library operations. For many of our larger Citywide purchases, the City uses a competitive bid process in order to secure better prices and ensure fairness in the selection process.
The Corporate Partnerships Program is reviewing the City's larger contractual purchases to identify opportunities where the selection of qualified providers should be based not only on a competitive price for products and services, but also on a variety of partnership benefits for both the City and the corporation. When a Citywide purchase is identified as a viable candidate for the Corporate Partnerships Program, it will be advertised as a Request for Proposal and Partnership through traditional mediums including the Bids and Contracts section of the City's website. The City also provides a list of current Goods and Services Partnership opportunities.
In general, the selection of partners for the goods and services RFP program will be based on the following criteria:
- Respondent's ability to supply goods and services as described in the RFP.
- The price and terms at which the Respondent is willing to supply goods and services.
- The Respondent's interest in entering into a Marketing Partnership with the City in conjunction with the City's Corporate Partnerships Program and if so, the overall financial package the Respondent is willing to provide for the City.
- The appropriateness of the respondent's compatibility as a Marketing Partner with the City.
Organizations and individuals may participate in one of the City's many public service programs as a sponsor or supporter. The City operates a myriad of programs and facilities which contribute greatly to the quality of life in San Diego. By affiliating with the City of San Diego, sponsors and supporters will receive valuable exposure while directly contributing to the community and the local population. With participation levels beginning around $5,000 and going as high as several million, there are marketing affiliations available which meet the budget of any organization.
