Activities included a tour of the Trolley, live music and presentations by Mayor Pete Wilson and Maureen O'Connor representing the Trolley's operator, San Diego Trolley, Inc. (SDTI), a subsidiary of the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS). The Trolley's inaugural run took place on the 15.9 mile 'South Line' between the U.S. International Border and downtown San Diego.
