The City of San Diego is preparing for the potential impacts of El Niño during the 2026-2027 rainy season. Heavy rainfall, strong winds, flooding and mudslides could affect neighborhoods across San Diego, making it important for residents to prepare before storms arrive.
Residents can help keep their neighborhoods safe by using Get It Done to report non-emergency issues such as clogged storm drains, fallen trees, potholes and other storm-related concerns. These reports help City crews identify and address problems throughout the community.
The City encourages residents to prepare by assembling at least three days of emergency supplies, securing outdoor items, clearing gutters and drains on their property, signing up for emergency alerts and knowing their flood risks and evacuation routes.
During a storm, avoid driving or walking through floodwaters, stay away from storm channels and follow directions from emergency officials.

Remember: Get It Done is intended for non-emergency service requests. For emergencies or immediate threats to public safety, call 9-1-1.
