Mayor Gloria Issues Statement on Agreement to Fund State’s Homeless, Housing, Assistance and Prevention Program

SAN DIEGO – Mayor Todd Gloria issued the following statement regarding the State of California's budget agreement to fully fund the seventh round of the Homeless Housing, Assistance and Prevention (HHAP) program:

"I want to thank Governor Newsom and the Legislature for reaching an agreement to fully fund the seventh round of the Homeless Housing, Assistance and Prevention program. In an extraordinarily difficult budget year, this agreement reflects a shared commitment to continuing the work of reducing homelessness across California.

 “HHAP funding has been instrumental in helping San Diego expand shelter, outreach, and housing programs that have contributed to one of California's largest reductions in unsheltered homelessness over the past two years. This investment will allow us to continue building on that progress by connecting more people to shelter, services, and permanent housing.”
