SAN DIEGO - Mayor Todd Gloria issued the following statement following today's announcement that The Sentry at Torrey Pines will join the PGA Tour Championship Series in 2028, further elevating San Diego's place on the global golf stage:
“This is excellent news for San Diego and another well-deserved recognition of Torrey Pines Municipal Golf Course as one of the premier championship venues in the world.
“Thank you to the Century Club and the PGA Tour for their commitment to competing on a golf course that belongs to the people of San Diego. Hosting this event will once again showcase our city to a global audience, support local businesses, and continue San Diego's proud tradition of hosting world-class sporting events. We look forward to welcoming the world's best golfers and fans from around the globe to Torrey Pines."
