There are year-round opportunities to volunteer for special projects and for special events, including, but not limited to the following:

January- Teen dances
February - Valentine's Day events
March- Senior Citizen's Services Talent Show
April - Spring Egg Hunts and Carnivals / Therapeutic Recreation Services' Children's Camp
May- Cinco de Mayo Celebrations / Therapeutic Recreation Services' Recovery Games
June- Chollas Lake Country Fair
July- Community Fairs/ Therapeutic Recreation Services' Camp at the Bay / Aquafest
August - City Championship Swim Meet and Water Polo Tournament / Wheelchair Sports Camp
September- Fiestas Patrias
October- Halloween Carnivals / Therapeutic Recreation Services' U.S. Open Wheelchair Tennis Tournament
November- Senior Citizen's Services Arts and Crafts and Hobby Show / Therapeutic Recreation Services' Quad Rugby Tournament
December- Toys for Tots / Therapeutic Recreation Services' Holiday Carnival

Volunteers can provide pre-event assistance as well as assistance the day of the event and after the event. Opportunities exist in a variety of areas from designing, painting, and building game booths and haunted houses, to timing races at a swim meet, or keeping score at a wheelchair basketball tournament. Other opportunities include office projects such as bulk mailings and data entry.
