San Diego Neighborhood Crime Summary Dashboard

The SDPD Neighborhood Crime Summary Dashboard offers a snapshot of information about crimes across the City of San Diego in near real-time. The dashboard contains three tabs to easily visualize crime trends, crime categories and map clusters of incident locations. Each category can be visualized either at the Citywide level or filtered down to an individual neighborhood.

National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS)

The National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) was implemented in 2021 to improve the overall quality of crime data collected by law enforcement. It captures details on each single crime incident—as well as on separate offenses within the same incident—including information on victims, known offenders, relationships between victims and offenders, arrestees, and property involved in crimes.

Historical Crime Reports

The UCR program’s traditional Summary Reporting System (SRS) is comprised of an aggregate monthly tally of crimes. Part 1 crimes include murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny, and motor vehicle theft. The FBI stopped accepting data through the summary reporting system in 2021.
