Eddie Meram was the owner of Doctor J's Liquor Store at 5080 Logan Avenue. Meram and his business had been part of the community for many years, and he was well liked and well known by his neighbors.

On the morning of May 1, 2003, Meram was found shot to death inside his store. An examination of store surveillance video revealed that Meram had been rushed by two men just moments after he opened his store for business that morning. The men overpowered Meram, robbed him and shot him to death.

There is a $25,000.00 reward offered by the San Diego County Grocer's Association and San Diego County Crime Stoppers, for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any of the men responsible for the murder of Meram.
