SYNOPSIS:

On May 23, 2004, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1700 block of 41st Street in the Shelltown area of San Diego. Upon arrival, officers found Mizraim Hernandez lying face down in the street. Hernandez had died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.

Witnesses reported hearing the sounds of several gunshots and seeing a Hispanic male described as being in his early twenties, being approximately 5'8"to 5'10"tall, wearing a red shirt. The male's arm was raised as if he was firing a gun. The male was last seen walking westbound in the 4000 block of Epsilon Street.

Hernandez was found to be a 22 year old Hispanic male from Mexico who was employed as a landscape helper. Hernandez'sfather reported him missing on the day prior to the shooting.
