Police Reports Taken by the San Diego Police Department
Includes requests for arrests, crimes, and event incident reports
Here are the ways to obtain a report:
Send your request and a stamped, self-addressed envelope to:

- date and location of occurrence
- report number, if available

Fees
All reports, except for arrest reports, cost $12, payable via check or money order payable to City Treasurer.
Arrest reports (only page 1 can be released) cost 50 cents, payable via check or money order to the City Treasurer.
Pick-Up
After seven (7) business days, email sdpdreportrequests@pd.sandiego.gov or call 619-531-2846 to confirm if a report is ready for pickup.
A third party may pick up a report if they have written authorization from the victim with a photo ID and the required $12 fee.
Traffic Collision or Accident Reports
Here are the ways to obtain a traffic collision report:

Submit an online request through LexisNexis eCrash.
A small fee may be charged to retrieve a report.

There is a $12 processing fee per report.
Criminal History Reports
Get local criminal history reports from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. If you need a local criminal history longer than seven (7) years, request a report from the State of California Department of Justice.
If you need a background check for Visa/Immigration or any foreign nation transactions, request a report from the State of California Department of Justice.
Warrants
Get information regarding an outstanding warrant from the San Diego County Sheriff's Department online warrant system.
