The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst III provides technical support to end users, performs complex technical and analytical duties, and leads the activities of other GIS personnel. Responsibilities include planning and managing multiple GIS projects, performing complex spatial analysis, designing and integrating GIS databases, developing customized tools and applications, and providing technical guidance to staff. The role requires a Bachelor's degree and three years of full-time professional GIS experience within the last six years, including one year equivalent to the City of San Diego’s GIS Analyst II classification.
