Police Officer III
Under general supervision, a Police Officer III performs difficult, sensitive, and specialized law enforcement functions, acts in a lead capacity, and responds to complex field problems, ensuring officer safety and providing technical expertise at major crime scenes. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or a related field, or possession of a California Advanced P.O.S.T. Certificate, and twelve years of full-time paid experience as a sworn peace officer with the San Diego Police Department.
