The Sanitation Driver I operates refuse packers, recycling vehicles, and greens collection vehicles to collect, transport, and dispose of waste and recyclable commodities. Responsibilities include driving assigned routes, loading waste materials, enforcing safety regulations, explaining waste management policies to the public, and performing vehicle maintenance. Minimum qualifications include six months of experience driving and operating a three-axle refuse packer or completion of the Sanitation Driver Trainee program, a valid Class A or Class B California Driver License, and a valid California DMV medical certificate.
