Agency Resolutions And Ordinances

More Details About Agency Resolutions and Ordinances

These documents are ordinances that have been adopted by the City of San Diego and resolutions that have been adopted by one of the City of San Diego agencies (Housing Authority, Industrial Development Authority, Redevelopment Agency, or Public Facilities Financing Authority).

An ordinance is a law adopted by the City. Ordinances usually amend, repeal or supplement the Municipal Code; provide zoning specifications; or appropriate money for specific purposes. Most ordinances require two hearings: an introduction, followed later by the final adoption. Ordinances normally become effective thirty days after adoption.

A resolution is a formal expression of opinion or intention of the Agency. Resolutions usually become effective upon their adoption.
