Mr. Larkin, a retired Founder & CEO of a prominent state-licensed detox and substance abuse treatment center, faced a personal tragedy that led to two years of living unhoused in San Diego. Deeply affected, he now advocates for the unhoused and marginalized, particularly the aging overlooked population. A dedicated artist, Larkin leverages his expertise in Human Services to teach low-income adults advanced art techniques, enhancing their livelihoods. He influences policy through roles in organizations like the Regional Task Force on Homelessness and H.E.A.L. Network. Currently, he collaborates with Lived Experience Advisers (LEA )and San Diego's Community Street Outreach Team to launch a trauma-informed, art-based community initiative.
