Hazard in 1913. Together, R.E. Hazard and Elwyn Blaine Gould (Hiram's grandson) developed the Pioneer Transfer and Storage Co. of San Diego. Its first location was at 1427 E Street and by 1906 was listed at 1314 E Street. In 1928 the firm merged with several others to form Lyon Van and Storage Company, with Elwyn Blaine Gould as its first president.
