Formed in 1974 as a sponsored program of The Center for Social Services, we produced the fi rst Lesbian and Gay Parade in San Diego to celebrate the 1969 Stonewall Rebellion on New Yorks Christopher Street. San Diego Pride incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofi t organization in 1994, and today it continues to bring together the skills, talents, and visions of our diverse community through numerous programs.San Diego Pride raises funds primarily through festival ticket and beverage sales, and through sponsorships, and exhibitor fees. These funds support San Diego Prides community philanthropy which has distributed more than $2.5 million in advancement of its mission to foster pride, equality, and respect for all lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities locally, nationally, and globally.

Concerts on the Green 2026

Concerts on the Green (CotG) at Kate Sessions Park in the Mission Bay / Pacific Beach area provides a free contemporary musical experience to San Diego residents and visitors alike. Kate Sessions Park offers a natural amphitheater hillside where, with a stage centered at the bottom of the hill, the audience enjoys scenic views of downtown San Diego and Mission Bay Park. The Sunday four-part concert series begins in July and concludes in August, and it provides an excellent opportunity for local musicians to perform for a massive audience.Talent featured in the concerts is selected to reflect the range and diversity that San Diego has to offer. The program includes reggae, 80s yacht rock, hip hop, and anything in between! The PB Town Council also strives to be equitable in talent selection and is committed to including musical groups from within SDs Promise Zone of economically disadvantaged communities.
