The HAZMAT Team responds to illegally abandoned hazardous waste in the public ?right of way? and on city property. The Environmental Response Team (ERT) is a specially designed HAZMAT apparatus designed to be used to investigate smaller, controlled and contained, hazardous materials spills. The ERT identifies the illegally abandoned substances, packages them for safe, legal disposal, and attempts to identify the responsible party. The Environmental Response Team is housed at Fire Station 44.
