Public Electric Vehicle Charging Program
The Public Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Program (PEVCP) will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and implement goals set forth in the City of San Diego’s Climate Action Plan (CAP). CAP Measure 2.3 sets goals to increase EV adoption and the PEVCP is one way the City is making it easier for people in our communities to transition to zero-emissions vehicles.
The City has public facilities in every neighborhood and office locations for more than 11,000 employees with over 400 parking lots. Installing EV charging stations in City-owned parking lots throughout San Diego will help address community charging needs and create a more accessible, connected and reliable EV charging network. To implement the PEVCP, the City entered into an exclusive 10-year concession agreement with a competitively procured vendor, everged. everged is responsible for financing, designing, permitting, constructing, operating and maintaining the PEVCP network of EV chargers.
