Winter Break Closures
2026 City Holiday Closures

Winter Break | Dec. 24, 2025 - Jan. 1, 2026

This year, San Diego Public Library will have an extended closure that includes the Library's regular holiday closures for both Christmas (Dec. 24 – 25) and New Year (Dec. 31 – Jan. 1).
 


 
During winter break, 11 locations will be open: 

Friday, Dec. 26 | 9:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. 
Saturday, Dec. 27 | 9:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. 
Monday, Dec. 29 | 11:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. 
Tuesday, Dec. 30 | 11:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. 
 
 

Libraries that will be open are:

City Heights/Weingart Library 
Linda Vista Library
Logan Heights Library
Mira Mesa Library 

 
Point Loma/Hervey Library 
Rancho Bernardo Library 
San Ysidro Library 
Skyline Hills Library 
Valencia Park/Malcolm X Library

 
 
Please note the following service impacts during winter break:  
  
  • Bookdrops are only open at the ten locations operating during the break. All others will be locked.
  • No items will be due during the break. Items with a return date during this period will be extended to Jan. 6, 2026.
  • Hold pickup times will be extended for items with a pickup date during this period. Cardholders will have at least 13 business days to pick up their holds.

2026 City holidays. The Library will be closed on these dates.

Book drops will remain open at all Libraries on holidays (unless otherwise noted).
