Executive Order Regarding Community Safety and Immigrant Rights
Recent immigration enforcement operations by the Trump Administration have created fear and uncertainty across neighborhoods in California, including in the City of San Diego.
While cities cannot lawfully interfere with or stop these federal operations, the City of San Diego remains fully committed to abiding by and uphold state laws like Senate Bill 54 (SB 54), ensure all residents know their rights, and that City employees and our vendors know the same.
On Wednesday, July 23, 2025, Mayor Todd Gloria signed an Executive Order to strengthens local policy, reaffirm the City’s alignment with SB 54, and prioritizes public safety of all residents.
