History of the Center
Colina del Sol Recreation Center was dedicated to the City of San Diego in 1962. The park was named after a contest was conducted through local elementary schools, whose students wanted it to be named "Slopes of the Sun."
Directions and Bus Route
From state Route 94, exit Euclid Avenue and travel north. Turn left on Trojan Street, then left on 52nd Street. Turn left on Orange Avenue. The park is on the right.
From Interstate 8, exit College Avenue south and turn right on El Cajon Boulevard. Proceed to 52nd Street and turn left, then left again on Orange Ave. The park is on the right.
The recreation center is accessible by bus via SDMTS routes 1, 7, 10, 15 and 955.

The center is closed on City Holidays.
Facilities
There are outdoor courts, a tot lot, a playground, picnic areas, a multipurpose athletic field, tennis courts, a full-size gymnasium, a meeting room, a game room, a craft and ceramic room, a full-size kitchen and a swimming pool across the street.
Teen Center
Monday to Friday: 3 to 7 p.m.
Homework Club, Movie Night, Computer Lab, Seasonal Sports, Youth Talk, Internships, Dominoes, Video Games, Snack Bar and more!
