History

Hourglass Field Community Park and Field House is a joint-use facility with the City of San Diego Park and Recreation Department and the San Diego Community College District, at Miramar Community College. Hourglass Field Community Park and Fieldhouse was dedicated and opened to the public in 1990 with four lighted softball fields and several multi-use fields, tot lot and picnic area. Ned Baumer Aquatic Center opened in 1999 - 2000. To add to the community's recreation options, a state-of-the-art facility, "The Field House," opened in June 2009, with a large gymnasium, gymnastics room, meeting rooms, multi-purpose room and a dance studio.

From Interstate 15 exit Carroll Canyon Road and travel west to end. Turn right on Black Mountain Road and travel approximately 0.4 miles. Turn right down the drive to The Field House.

The center is accessible by bus via SDMTS (link is external) Routes 20, 31, 210, 921 and 964.
