Current Special Events and Activities

History of the Center

The land where the recreation center is located was acquired by the City on Sept. 3, 1946, and the center was built in 1954. The Pacific Beach Recreation Center was dedicated on March 6, 1975.

From Interstate 5 north, take the Grand Avenue / Garnet Avenue exit. Turn left on Grand Avenue. Turn right on Gresham Street. Turn right on Diamond Street.

From Interstate 5 south, take the Balboa Avenue / Garnet Avenue exit. Turn right on Garnet Avenue. Turn right on Gresham Street. Turn right on Diamond Street.

The center is accessible by bus via SDMTS Routes 8 / 9 and 27.
