History

Park de la Cruz Gymnasium is available for everyone to use as an additional recreation resource in City Heights, which is listed in the Mid-City Public Facilities Financing Plan as a necessary facility to meet the needs of the Mid-City population. The project was completed in April 2020. The park features a new skate park with various bowls, pipes, ramps, steps and rails. Park de la Cruz also offers a softball field and outdoor multipurpose basketball court. Surrounding landscape improvements linked greenspace to Cherokee Point Park. Additional amenities added were picnic shelters, accent trees, sports lighting, solar canopy, drinking fountains, accessibility for persons with disabilities, and path of travel improvements.
