Safety Officer
The Safety Officer plans, develops, organizes, and coordinates occupational safety education and enforcement programs within a large department or across several smaller departments/divisions with significant safety-related issues. Responsibilities include developing safety policies and procedures, conducting safety inspections, investigating accidents, ensuring compliance with federal and state safety regulations, and supervising subordinates. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field, three years of professional-level experience in occupational safety and health work, and a valid California Class C Driver’s License.
