The Energy Division of the Sustainability & Mobility Department oversees the City’s energy policies and projects, such as the Zero Emissions Municipal Buildings and Operations Policy and the Zero Net Energy Library Project. The division also oversees the transition to 100% renewable energy through San Diego Community Power (SDCP) and the administrative oversight of the SDG&E franchise.
Clean. Green. Renewable.
Transitioning our energy system away from fossil fuels and toward clean and renewable sources is key to reducing GHG emissions and supporting a more sustainable future for all of us. Energy consumed in the City of San Diego that is derived from renewable resources will improve the health and safety of our residents while potentially providing long-term cost savings to residents and businesses.
