Application Guide:
Global Creative City Partners

Global Creative City Partners are established arts and cultural organizations whose work plays a defining role in positioning San Diego as a cultural and creative destination while creating meaningful benefit for the people, artists, and communities who live here.

This pathway is intentionally connected to Creative City Goal 4: Global Creative City, including destination marketing, cultural tourism, global-market awareness, signature destination experiences, and expanded transborder artistry.

Global Creative City Partners are designed around a reciprocal principle: deeper public investment comes with stronger expectations for public access, stewardship, partnership, and community benefit.

Global Creative City Partners may receive a higher or more sustained level of City investment because of their distinctive role in San Diego’s cultural life, destination identity, and creative economy. With that investment comes heightened responsibility for public benefit, access, stewardship, partnership, transparency, and ecosystem reciprocity.
