Does your organization sound like an OSP organization?

No trick question! We are just checking a few basics before sending you into an Organizational Support Program (OSP) category.

For OSP, your organization generally needs to:

  • Have its own eligible nonprofit status.
  • Be based in the City of San Diego. For OSP, the organization must have a primary administrative or operating base in the City of San Diego. This does not necessarily mean you need a traditional office. Organizations may operate from shared spaces, home offices, multiple locations, or other models when they can provide the required documentation.
  • Have arts, culture, creativity, cultural heritage, cultural practice, or creative sector support as a substantial and ongoing part of the organization’s work.
  • Provide meaningful benefit to the public through its arts and cultural work.
  • Meet applicable legal and registration requirements.

Wonderful. Now we get to the category part!

Next question: Which one sounds most like your organization today?

OSP may not be the right fit because it provides general operating support to eligible City based organizations.

But do you have a specific arts or cultural project that takes place in San Diego or directly benefits San Diego?

If yes, you may still want to explore CCSD.

Next question: Is arts and culture really the heart of this project?

OSP is probably not the strongest fit.

But you are not necessarily done!

If you have a specific project where arts, culture, creativity, heritage, or support for the creative sector is the main purpose, CCSD may be worth exploring.

Next question: Is arts and culture really the heart of this project?

No problem. Check if you're eligible for OSP or request Application Support for assistance.
