Our values as a city are reflected in the programs and services the City Council chooses to prioritize and fund. The annual process used to create the budget is an important tool in determining how resources will be prioritized and allocated to meet the diverse needs of San Diego communities.

On Monday, April 22nd, Mayor Todd Gloria presented the Proposed Fiscal Year 2025 Budget, starting a weeks long process where the City Council will fully vet the Proposed Budget. Additionally, each Councilmember has the opportunity to champion projects and programs that are important to the community by submitting a formal request of budget priorities to the Mayor for his consideration in the development of the Proposed Fiscal Year 2025 May Revision. As the representative for District 6 and the Chair of the Budget and Government Efficiency Committee, Councilmember Lee wants to know what matters most to you. Share your thoughts on the Proposed Budget and funding priorities to help shape the upcoming budget!

  • Budget Survey - Open through June 7, 2024
  • The Office of the Independent Budget Analyst (IBA) releases review of the Fiscal Year 2025 Proposed Budget. View the report here. 
  • May 1, 2024 - Budget Review Committee begins to hear public input on the budget.
  • May 8, 2024 - City Council meeting for public input on FY25 Proposed Budget at 6:00 p.m. in City Council Chambers
  • May 15, 2024 - Budget Town Hall in District 6 with Councilmember Kent Lee and IBA
  • June 7, 2024 - City Council Budget Hearing and Final Modifications
