Let Councilmember Lee Know Your Budget Priorities!

On September 4, 2024, the Independent Budget Analyst requested that City Councilmembers provide Fiscal Year 2026 Budget priorities by September 25, 2024. As Chair of the Budget Committee, Councilmember Lee values the participation of citizens in the development of these priorities so that the final budget better reflects the needs of San Diego communities. Participation in the following survey will help the committee better evaluate City budgetary priorities.

  • Participate in Budget Survey below – open until September 20, 2024
  • April 15, 2025 - Release of Mayor's FY 2026 Proposed Budget online
  • April 21, 2025 - Mayor presents FY 2026 Proposed Budget at City Council
  • May 5 - May 9, 2025 - Budget Review Committee department presentation hearings
  • May 5, 2025 - 6:00 PM Budget Review Committee hearing for public input
  • May 19, 2025 - 6:00 PM City Council meeting for public input
  • June 6, 2025 - Budget Review Committee discusses the recommended City Council budget modifications
  • June 10, 2025 - City Council approval of the FY 2026 Budget with any final budget modifications

FY 2026 Budget Survey

Our values as a city are reflected in the programs and services the City Council chooses to prioritize and fund. The annual process used to create the budget is an important tool in determining how resources will be prioritized and allocated to meet the diverse needs of San Diego communities. 

A crucial step in developing budget priorities is to gather input from as many individuals as possible to ensure the Proposed Budget is responsive to community needs.
