Express Plan Check is available for most disciplines upon payment of an Express Plan Check administrative fee plus 1.5 times the regular plan check fee. The Express fee includes rechecks.
Express Plan Check provides review times 40% - 50% faster than standard review times. Note that different reviewing disciplines may have different timeframes for turnarounds.
This Express service applies to the review portion of the permit process only. The Express service begins once a project has been distributed for review. Projects eligible for Rapid Review will not be processed via the Express service. Requests for Construction Changes to existing permits completed via Express may also be processed as Express upon customer request at initial submittal unless otherwise eligible for Rapid Review.

Per Mayor Todd Gloria's January 2023 Executive Order, projects consisting of 100% deed-restricted affordable units or emergency shelter may be eligible for Express Plan Check and additional special processing accommodations. See "Affordable Housing Permit Now" for more information.
