Breakthrough T1D Walk is the worlds largest fundraising and community-building event for the T1D community. T1D is an autoimmune disease that is diagnosed in both children and adults and has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle. Managing T1D requires constant attention and actionincluding overnight. Even with a strict regimen, people with T1D can still experience dangerously high or low blood sugar that can lead to complications and, in extreme cases, be life-threatening. Location: The Breakthrough T1D San Diego will take place at Preble Field, located at NTC Park. NTC Park is located at Liberty Station. Preble Field is south of Cushing Road between Roosevelt Road and Dewey Road.

The walk route will begin on the walk path at the northeast corner of Preble Field, headed east, turning right on the walk path through the park toward the water. The route will continue on the Esplanade along NTC Park, turning right at Farragut Road. The route will continue on the sidewalk along the perimeter of the park, along Cushing Rd, returning to Preble Field. Walkers will remain on walking paths or sidewalks for the entirety, with course marshals closely monitoring safe crossing at all intersections. We do not intend to close any streets.
