History of the Center
The 21.75-acre site was acquired in 1974 and dedicated in 1978. Like the nearby middle school, the recreation center was named for Navy Adm. William Standley.
Directions and Bus Route
From Interstate 5, take State Route 52 east. Exit on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard/Regents Road and turn left on Regents Road. Turn right on Governor Drive and travel three blocks east. The center is on the right.
From Interstate 805, take State Route 52 west. Exit on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard/Regents Road and turn right on Regents Road. Turn right on Governor Drive and travel three blocks east. The center is on the right.
The recreation center is accessible by bus via SDMTS routes 41, 50 and 105.
