La Jolla Cove Swim

-
The La Jolla Cove Swim has been occurring almost every year since 1916. There are three separate swimming events. A 250m Kids race, 1 Mile race and a 3 mile race. This iconic swim is one of the longest running open water swims in the United States. This event is an all volunteer run charity fundraiser with all proceeds going to support the Prevent Drowning Foundation of San Diego County, whose mission is to bring swimming to all San Diegans.

Location: The event takes place at the North end of Scripps Park. There will be small number of vendors and exhibitors, and 3 participant check in stations set up adjacent to the park sidewalk just South of the bathrooms as well as between the bathrooms and the Cove itself, including Point La Jolla. The park area will remain open to the public, except for the La Jolla Cove which will be for event (swimmers) participants only. The Cove will remain completely open to the public on Saturday the 6th and will only be closed to the public during the swim events on Sunday the 7th, approximately 7am-2pm.
