Specifically in San Diego, Southwest Airlines SAN has taken the lead to implement "Green Initiatives". We improve air quality and conserve energy by reducing our greenhouse gas emissions, conserving jet fuel, and using cleaner-burning technology in our ground support equipment. In 2018 SWA SAN replaced 90% of our ground support vehicles to all electric. We minimize waste by purchasing eco-friendly materials and implementing robust recycling programs in our facilities and onboard our aircraft.
