The South Clairemont Pee Wee Sports program accommodates children 4 to 8 years old and teaches the basic fundamentals of various sports. We will spend a week or two on each sport which will include basketball, soccer, baseball and much more. We have increased the age span to boost the program. We will separate by age as needed. Parents - feel free to join us!
Ages: 4 to 8 years
Time: 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Cost: $15 to $20 per 3 to 4 week session
The sport of Judo is a Japanese Martial Art. This program focuses on self-defense and staying fit by building awareness and coordination. This is a non-striking martial art and suitable for the whole family.
Ages: 5 years to Adult
Day: Monday 5:30 to 6:45 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Cost: $50 per month
SDYT, San Diego Youth Theatre is a class offered by the City of San Diego Park and Recreation Department. Our goal is to offer a safe, fun, professional and affordable program for children of all backgrounds. Participants will learn the basics to theatre, create new friendships, learn responsibly and team work and most of all- have fun!
Ages: 9 to 17 years
Days: Beginning class Thursday 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.
Advanced class Monday 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.
Cost: $50/ 12 to 16 week session
We offer a safe, fun place to go after school for students aged 12 -17 years Monday thru Friday 2:00-6:00pm. We provide outdoor pick-up sports games, indoor board games, air hockey, ping pong, foosball, a pool table, TV, and computers (no Wi-Fi) for homework. We encourage families to utilize the Activity Center on weekends!
We host an annual Spring Egg Hunt and Halloween Carnival. Stay tuned for more details! The annual Clairemont Family Day is the first Saturday in August. 2019 celebrates 30 Years of Family Fun! Event runs 8am-4pm and offers a Pancake Breakfast, entertainment stage, pony and carnival rides, a classic car show, shopping and food vendors and more! We are adding a Parents/Kids Night Out program once a month! It’s a ‘win-win’ when you can schedule a night out with friends or spouses and your children also have a fun time at the rec! This is a group of residents and a forum to address concerns regarding South Clairemont and Tecolote Recreation Centers as well as Mt. Acadia Community Park, East Clairemont Athletic Area and Western Hills Neighborhood Park. Recently the two boards merged and welcome new members. Meetings are open to the public and meet monthly on the second Thursday at 5:30pm at the recreation center.

The BookNook program is a "take a book, leave a book" gathering place at your favorite recreation center. Share your favorite literature and stories with others.
From Interstate 5, take the Clairemont Drive exit (east) and proceed up the hill. The center on is the right hand side.
From Genesee Avenue take Balboa Avenue (west) to Clairemont Drive and turn left. The center is on the left.
The center is accessible by bus via SDMTS Routes 27, 50 and 105.
