Pee Wee Sports

The South Clairemont Pee Wee Sports program is designed to teach children sports in a safe environment. Children will learn the fundamentals of baseball, basketball, soccer and more.

Ages: 4-6 years

Day: Monday and Wednesday

Time: 4:00-5:00 pm

Cost $13/ 4week session


Cooking Class

Participants can learn how to cook delicious healthy food. Recipes are simple and easy to prepare at home. Supplies will be provided.

Ages: 7-16 years

Day: Wednesday

Time: 3:30- 4:30 pm

Cost: $18/ 4 week session


Little Hot Shots

Participants will be introduced to the sport of basketball. The program will be offered in a non-competitive environment with an emphasis on good sportsmanship and having fun.

Ages: 4-6 years

Day: Wednesday

Time: 4:00- 5:00 pm

Cost: $13/ 4 week session



Judo is a sport and a Japanese martial art. This is a “keep fit” program and a means of self-defense. The class is designed to build awareness and coordination. This is a non-striking martial art.

Ages: 5 years – Adult

Day: Monday 5:30 – 6:45 PM

Saturday 10:00AM – 12:00 PM

Cost: $40/ month


Advanced Theatre

Children ages 9 to 17 years are invited to this advanced acting class. Participants will exhibit their improvisation, voice skills, acting terminology and host a fall performance at South Clairemont Recreation Center.

Ages: 9 – 16 years

Day: Monday and Friday

Time: 4:00 – 5:00 PM

Cost: $25/ 12 week


Skateboarding 1

Participants focus on basic parts of a skateboard, safety tips and techniques. From a kneeling and sitting position instruction will be given of pushing, riding, balancing, turning and stopping on your skateboard. Helmet, elbow pads and knee pads are required to participate.

Ages: 4-12 years

Day: Friday

Time: 3:15-4:00 pm

Cost: $15/ month


Skateboarding 2

Participants focus on basic and detailed parts of a skateboard, safety tips and techniques, foot placement, pushing riding, turning, and stopping and beginner tricks. Students learn how to manage and customize their skateboards as well as how to assemble a skateboard.

Ages: 7-14 years

Day: Friday

Time: 4:15- 5:00 PM

Cost: $30/ month


Skateboarding 3

Participants focus on basic and detailed parts of a skateboard, safety tips and techniques, foot placement, and beginner to intermediate flat ground skateboarding tricks. Students will constantly be challenged to progress their skills on a skateboard in a fun and lightly competitive manner.

Ages: 7-14 years

Day: Friday

Time: 5:15-6:00 PM

Cost: $30/ month

From Genesee Avenue take Balboa Avenue (west) to Clairemont Drive and turn left. The center is on the left.

The center is accessible by bus via SDMTS Routes 27, 50 and 105.
