Kristiana (Krissy) joins Councilmember LaCava’s team after receiving her Master of Advanced Studies in Climate Science and Policy from Scripps Institution of Oceanography. There she presented her Capstone Project on how to address California’s pervasive wildfires via the expansion of Indigenous stewardship. She also served as co-founder and Chair of the University of California San Diego’s Climate Reality Campus Corps Chapter. She brings dedicated research skills, community outreach and engagement experience, and a passion for addressing environment justice, the climate crisis, and establishing a just transition.

Krissy received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University at Albany, SUNY, where she spent time volunteering with her community and promoting various fundraisers for the Children’s Miracle Network and the Veteran’s Hospital in Albany, NY. Despite her bi-coastal ties, she is a born and raised Southern Californian well versed in our unique and diverse communities. She spends her free time surfing, rock climbing, kickboxing, and going on adventures in our beautiful city.
