Policy Advisor

Brian Elliott joins Councilmember Joe LaCava after serving as a policy advisor for City of San Diego Councilmember Chris Ward (District 3). In this role, Brian’s areas of focus included energy & sustainability, homelessness, and the economic development of Downtown San Diego. 

Brian has previously worked for U.S. Representative Scott Peters (CA-52) where he covered energy, environmental, homelessness, defense, and biotech matters in the district. Brian completed his bachelor’s degree at the University of Portland and received his master’s degree in environmental policy from the University of Pennsylvania. His wife, Sheila Rao, and he are residents of Downtown San Diego and find every possible opportunity to run trails.
