In fact, over the past 10 years Downtown San Diego has seen the construction of more total housing units and more Affordable housing units than any other community in San Diego.
Downtown's seven distinctive and thriving neighborhoods offer a unique blend of residential, business, cultural, recreational, and entertainment opportunities and has become the center of life for the San Diego region. Our world-class, downtown sits on the waterfront of San Diego Bay and encompasses approximately 1,500 acres of the metropolitan core of the city. As Downtown continues to grow, it contributes to the vitality and economic success of San Diego, while adding much needed housing units to the region at a variety of affordability levels, allowing more people to live close to work, transit, recreation, and culture, creating equal access to opportunities and resources thus creating a Downtown for all of us.
