Standards
This standard clarifies the requirements for private fire hydrants providing the required water supply for buildings and facilities. Previously titled CRR Policy O-22-2
Guidelines
The purpose of these guidelines is to familiarize event promoters, sponsors, and vendors with information about outdoor festivals/special events and general fire safety regulations that are enforced by the Fire-Rescue Department’s Community Risk Reduction Division (CRRD).

In order to increase fire safety for both booth operators and the general public, these requirements shall be met when open flame cooking devices are used during an outdoor special event.
This policy is written to notify building owners and industry that testing of pressure reducing valves is required every five years. All pressure reducing valves are to be set at their original acceptance pressure, or 100 PSI at 250 GPM if the original acceptance pressure cannot be determined.

The purpose of this policy is to establish guideline for the abandonment and removal of standpipes in buildings constructed prior to the adoption of the 1970 Uniform Building Code.
