Presentations and Fire Engine Visits

Photo of Fire Station Tour

San Diego Fire-Rescue Department personnel spend hundreds of hours each year going to schools, community groups and special events to promote fire and life safety.

Some of the topics covered by speakers include:

  • Stop, Drop and Roll
  • Basic Safety in the Workplace
  • Smoke Detectors Save Lives
  • Appropriate Use of 9-1-1
  • Home Fire Safety and Exit Drills

Demand on resources and time requires that presentations to school groups are limited to children at least 5 years of age.

If your school or organization would like to have a fire engine, ambulance and/or speaker come to your location and you are within the City of San Diego, complete the Request Form.

Please submit your request at least three weeks in advance of your event.

The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department proudly participates in a number of community events each year including fairs, parades and health events. Our participation is limited to educational and community events only. We are unable to support private events such as birthday parties and business openings due to normal day-to-day demands on our time.

Please be aware that fire crews are on duty 24-hours a day. Even with booked events, the possibility exists that the crew could be diverted due to an emergency. If a crew does not arrive for your scheduled event, please call to reschedule.
