Come join us to celebrate the groundbreaking of the long awaited Normal Street Promenade; the event will include a speaking program featuring Mayor Todd Gloria, Councilmember Stephen Whitburn, Assemblymember Chris Ward, Pro Tem Emerita Toni Atkins, and representatives from the community as well as a musical performance. The Normal Street Promenade will close two traffic lanes to build a new Pride Plaza, create a pedestrian space, add seating, trees, and a small children's area for the community to enjoy.
