Tricia Mendenhall began her employment with the City of San Diego in July 2001 as a member of the Audit Division in the Auditor and Comptroller's Office. In May 2005, she became the supervising accountant over the Department's Accounts Payable section. She returned to the City Auditor's Office in June 2007.

As a member of the Audit Division, Tricia performed a variety of audit functions, which included special investigations and routine operational audits. While in her capacity as Accounts Payable Supervising Accountant, she began conducting city-wide training for accounts payable staff, and was instrumental in the City wide usage of self sealed checks.

Tricia is a Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP), Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA), has a Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Accounting and is currently working towards her Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) Certification.
