Senior Performance Auditor

Rebecca Takahashi joined the San Diego City Auditor's Office in May 2014 as a Senior Performance Auditor. Prior to joining the City of San Diego, she worked at the Office of the City Auditor in the City of Austin as a Senior Auditor and as an Audit Investigator Intern. She was also an active member and volunteer for the IIA-Austin Chapter, having served as the Academic Relations Committee Chair in 2012. Rebecca was awarded the 2013 Outstanding Contribution to the Local Government Auditing Quarterly by the Association of Local Government Auditors (ALGA) in May 2014.

Prior to her career in performance auditing, Rebecca worked as a Research and Quality Assurance Analyst for a leading online provider of federal, state, and foundation grant information and grants management tools for local government and nonprofit entities.

Rebecca has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Political Studies, and a Minor in Economics from Pitzer College. Rebecca also earned her Master of Public Affairs (MPAff) degree from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. She is also a Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP) and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
