Fiscal & Policy Analyst
Chris Olsen joined the Office of the Independent Budget Analyst (IBA) in October 2013 as a Fiscal & Policy Analyst. Before joining the IBA, Chris worked for six years in senior policy roles advising members of the Los Angeles City Council. In Los Angeles, Chris managed councilmembers' legislative portfolios and analyzed issues related to the city's annual budget process, with a special focus on the police and fire departments.
While attending graduate school, Chris served as a Mayoral Fellow for the City of Charlotte. In that role, he conducted policy research on various issues including proposed changes to airport governance.
Chris has a Master of Public Administration degree with a concentration in Urban Management and Policy from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a bachelor's degree in Politics and French from Pomona College.
